C-Store Johnny's Markets Reduces Refrigerated Product Loss by 8.6% with Jolt, a SmartSense Solution

 
Johnny’s Markets implemented Jolt to unify checklists, temperature monitoring, and labeling across all locations—boosting image standards by 26% and reducing product loss due to cooler and freezer failure by 8.6%. [Wayne Kennedy] Before implementing Jolt, we had issues with keeping our stores on point with their tasks, as well as managing our sensors for our coolers and freezers, and also just having a unified labeling system that we could utilize in our organization.

[Drew Schmidt] We struggled with accountability, assigning responsibility to certain situations, including refrigeration maintenance.

[Wayne Kennedy] We were using a variety of different platforms that require different labels and different machines that we had to support. We looked at other IoT solutions, but none of them really encompassed all of the features that we were looking for. With Jolt, though, it provided checklists, the sensors that we needed for coolers and freezers, as well as the ability to temp our warmer products, labels that we could use as well for our warmer program and outdates, all on one platform.

[Drew Schmidt] We needed a product that checked every box without compromise, and Jolt was able to do that without any issue.

[Wayne Kennedy] Jolt was implemented across all 66 locations, including 23 adjoining QSR locations, as well as two standalone QSR locations. Since implementing Jolt, we have recognized a 26% increase in image standards for our stores, as well as an 8.6% decrease in lost or wasted product due to cooler and freezer failures. It just means that our stores are meeting the organizational standards that we set forth for them, and they've exceeded it by 26% from previous years. Jolt has been a very reliable tool for us.
